EQUINE STUDIES PROGRAM STARTS SPRING SEMESTER 2007 |

Equine Education Chair-Operating Fund. Direct donations to the Equine Education Chair-Development fund will be accepted. These donations will not be applied to Scholarships. To assist in the early growth of the Chair-Development Fund, a portion of all Scholarship donations are directed to the Equine Education Chair/Development fund.
Pooled Donation Scholarships. AEA will establish specific named perpetual scholarships in to which Scholarship donations will be accumulated until a total of $5000.00 or more is achieved. The named Scholarship will then be established at USCA for the Equine Education Program in the School of Business Administration. These scholarships will allow the award of only the interest accrued on the invested scholarship by USCA each year. There is no minimum donation amount required to participate in Pooled Donation Scholarships. Each donor will be acknowledged by AEA.
Named Perpetual Scholarships. Individuals or businesses may select their own name for a perpetual scholarship by donating $5000.00 or more and specifying the desired name for the scholarship. These scholarships will allow the award of only the interest accrued by USCA each year.
Single Award Scholarships. Individuals or businesses may select their own name for a Single Award Scholarship by a one time donation of $500 or more and specifying the Scholarship be a single one time award.
INTERNSHIPS..... Local Equine businesses are urged to participate in the Equine Studies Internship program by providing part time employment to selected Equine Education Program students. A total of 110 hours is required for a student to earn 3 credit hours in a semester. A minimum of 55 hours must be spent working at the premises of the organization offering the internship. Other hours may be spent off site completing the required assignment. If substantial time is not required for project completion off site, the hours worked on premises must be increased. STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS/INTERNSHIPS..... Competitive Scholarship funds will be available in the Equine Education program of the USCA School of Business Administration beginning with the Spring 2007 semester. To apply a student must register in the School of Business Administration and select the Management area of concentration as well as express an interest in participating in the Equine Studies Program.
